BTOES17 Poster Presentations

Introduction

BTOES will be approving a limited number of Poster Presentations for display at the Business Transformation & Operational Excellence World Summit & Industry Awards (BTOES)

Presenters will need to be available to discuss their Poster Presentation on both days of the main summit on the Thursday & Friday during the refreshment breaks.

This is an excellent method to gain recognition for your continuous improvement initiatives, at the largest networking event of the year for practitioners, leading experts and senior executives involved with achieving Operational Excellence.

Poster Presentation will be approximately 40" wide and 40" high (inches).

In order to be considered, please click here to submit an abstract of your presentation proposal.

Submitted applications will be reviewed by the Poster Review Board and acceptance decisions usually take up to 7 days. Once accepted, you simply need to produce and print your poster and bring it with you to the event, or if you wish you can ship it to the event office, no earlier than 3 working days prior to the event date.

There is no deadline to apply, but it is subject to availability, due to limited spaces. Once full, a notice will be posted on this page. Please note, the attendance discounts do change, as detailed below. 

Award Shortlist Posters

If you have entered into the Awards Program, you do not need to fill in this application to submit a Poster Presentation. This process is not for award program entrants. If you are shortlisted as a finalist in the awards program, part of your process would be to produce a Poster Presentation, but you do not need to fill in this application on this page. The Content

Below is just a guideline. You do not need to follow this. These tend to be the most effective posters. Content should always be kept concise:

  • Strong Project Title.
  • Succinct Introduction – Define the Purpose.
  • What did you set out to achieve?
  • What were the outcomes of the project?
  • What were the results?
  • What went wrong?
  • What went right?

How To Apply

In order to be considered, please click here to submit an abstract of your presentation proposal.

Abstracts should be up to 250 words in length, outlining the project covered. We recommend you submit your abstracts ASAP, as we have limited display sections, and display positions can go months before the event date.

All applicants will be informed if their Poster Presentation has been accepted within 7 days of receipt.

Logistics

Preparation Pre Attendance

Once you have produced your poster(s), please submit an image(s) by clicking here
However, you will need to print your own Posters, and bring or ship them to the summit. The posters must be brought rolled up in a cylinder, not mounted on a board. Please pin your Poster Presentation to one of the allocated Poster Boards by latest Tuesday during the event week. 

At The Summit

When attending the summit, please pin your Poster Presentation to one of the allocated Poster Boards by Wednesday, at 3.30pm. So they can be viewed during the Welcome Reception on Wednesday at 5pm.
Presenters should be available to discuss their Poster Presentation(s) on both days of the main summit on Wednesday & Thursday, during the refreshment breaks. This is an excellent method to gain recognition for your continuous improvement initiatives.  But, you do not need to make a formal presentation, or bring any electronic equipment, just print and bring your poster with you in a cylinder, and that will be pinned to the foam poster boards at the event. 
 
You may tear down your Poster Presentations after lunch on Friday, the final day of the main summit. 

Shipping Details

If you do not want to carry your Poster Presentation on the flight, you can ship it to the hotel. Please send them NO EARLIER THAN 5 DAYS IN ADVANCE. Mark the parcel BTOES, and then the hotel address which can be found here https://btoes.com/venue 
Also on the label, mark up the following. 

Hold for GUEST: (Guest Name) (Your Company Name) (Guest Cell Number) (Arrival Date) - POSTER

NOTE:  Please label boxes for multiple items e.g. "1 of 3

The hotel may charge a handling fee for packages coming into and out of the hotel.  Charges are based on package size and weight and can be charged to your hotel room. 

Award for Best Poster

 Award for "The Best Poster Presentation" 

There will be a judging panel on-site visiting each Poster Presentation. On the Friday, "The Best Poster Presentations" will be announced and prize(s) will be awarded. See the agenda for the precise time slot and an indication of prizes. 

The judging criteria will be based on: -

  1. Originality of Project
  2. Aesthetics- Visually Appealing
  3. Creativity of Poster
  4. Value to Reader
  5. Clear Problem- Solution- Goal, and Outcome
  6. Results

Please do not get this confused with the Awards Program Poster Presentations, their Poster Presentations are being judged separately.
